A Resilient and Equitable Vision for the Bay Area’s Future

“Let’s ensure that by the year 2050, the Bay Area is affordable, connected, diverse, healthy and vibrant for all.”

Plan Bay Area 2050 is a long-range plan for the nine-county Bay Area. Our region is facing some big questions. To answer them, we need a shared vision for the future. Plan Bay Area 2050 charts a course for how we can invest our attention, energy and budgets over the next 30 years.

Plan Bay Area 2050 focuses on four key issues. Housing, the economy, transportation and the environment are crucial topics to address to make the Bay Area more equitable for all residents and more resilient in the face of unexpected challenges.

After nearly four years of technical work, Plan Bay Area 2050 will be completed in 2021. Along the way, the plan has been shaped by input from you. Every Bay Area resident can contribute to creating a more equitable and resilient region. Help us work toward creating a Bay Area that is more affordable, connected, diverse, healthy and vibrant for all — download the draft report and tell us what you think.
